The Philadelphia 76ers are not in a pretty series with the Chicago Bulls right now. Aside from the second half of Game 2 on May 1, Sixers fans like myself didn’t see Philadelphia play efficient basketball in Chicago. But we hoped the Sixers would take that second half and build on it when they returned to the Wells Fargo Center for Game 3 on May 4 – yet it took about 40 minutes for that to happen

PHILADELPHIA — There should have been no way the 76ers could have stayed with the Chicago Bulls when the Bulls were able to deaden the pace of Game 3 of their opening-round playoff series on Friday night. There should have been no way, particularly, they could come back from a 14-point deficit early in the fourth quarter.

Chicago center Joakim Noah rolled his left ankle in the third quarter of the Bulls ‘ 79-74 NBA playoff loss to Philadelphia , and left the arena on crutches. Noah was driving down the lane when he stepped on the right foot of 76ers forward Andre Iguodala . His ankle turned over sharply and he remained on the floor for several minutes in obvious pain.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Spencer Hawes scored 21 points, grabbed nine rebounds and hit the go-ahead jumper late in the fourth quarter to help the Philadelphia 76ers rally to beat the Chicago Bulls 79-74 on Friday night and take a 2-1 lead in their Eastern Conference playoff series. Hawes scored 10 clutch points in the fourth to give the eighth-seeded Sixers the surprising series lead. Game 4 is Sunday in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia 76ers added intrigue to their series with the Chicago Bulls by blowing the top seed out in Game 2 on May 1. However, Sixers fans like myself still have to take into account that it was the Bulls ‘ first game since Derrick Rose ‘s season-ending injury. That is a handy excuse for why Chicago lost Game 2 and why it might not win the championship, yet it isn’t a handy excuse for losing this series

CHICAGO — A routine playoff victory took a nasty turn for the Chicago Bulls on Saturday afternoon. With about 1:15 remaining in a 103-91 win over the Philadelphia 76ers , guard Derrick Rose drove toward the basket, came to a jump stop with both feet, then fell to the ground grabbing his left knee.
