Bucks assistant Sampson on Cavs coaching list

Avery Johnson, Tom Thibodeau, Jeff Van Gundy, Mark Jackson, Dwane Casey, Phil Jackson, and on and on. There are names that keep coming up for all the head-coaching jobs that are open this offseason but the Cleveland Cavaliers may end up with a guy that isn’t generally found on the standard lists, according to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski. The team is reportedly in the fact-finding stage on Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Kelvin Sampson

Bosh joining LeBron-Wade meeting

Soon-to-be free agents Dwyane Wade (notes) , Joe Johnson (notes) , and LeBron James (notes) are all planning to meet up this summer to discuss what their plans are as far as who will sign where this offseason, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday. And now ESPN is reporting that Chris Bosh (notes) will be part of the festivities as well.

GM Gar Forman defends loyalty of Bulls organization

Bulls General Manager Gar Forman Thursday defended the loyalty of the Bulls organization to its former players in light of damning comments in the Chicago Tribune by Miami’s Dwyane Wade that the Bulls are a disloyal organization.

Hawks re-interview Johnson, Casey

The Atlanta Hawks apparently really like the look of the Dallas Mavericks because the team has apparently has had second interviews with former Mavs coach Avery Johnson and current Dallas assistant coach Dwane Casey, according to ESPN. Casey reportedly had his second interview yesterday with some of the team’s ownership group. Johnson did the same last week

Wizards’ Arenas reaches out to Wall?

The Washington Wizards are clearly a team in transition. It used to be Gilbert Arenas’ (notes) team, but since his suspension at mid-season for his locker-room shenanigans with firearms, the team has attempted to distance itself from having him as the face of the franchise.

NBA rescinding Perkins’ technicals?

Boston Celtics center Kendrick Perkins (notes) may have to miss Game 6 against the Orlando Magic due to getting his sixth and seventh technical fouls of the postseason.

Grizzlies’ Randolph involved in Indy drug dealing?

An Escalade registered to Memphis Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph (notes) was pulled over in Indianapolis and marijuana was found in secret compartments in the car. According to MyFox Memphis, Indy police then found a few storage lockers registered to Randolph that had controlled substances in them. The speculation is that Randolph is a financier of some drug dealers in Indianapolis

An SUV registered to Memphis Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph (notes) was pulled over in Indianapolis on May 11 and marijuana was found in the car.

The Cleveland Cavaliers toss aside head coach Mike Brown the other day but didn’t bother firing his three assistants: Chris Jent, Melvin Hunt and Mike Malone.

No Hornets offer to Thibodeau yet

Reports came yesterday that the New Orleans Hornets had made an offer to Boston Celtics assistant coach Tom Thibodeau to take over the head-coaching spot that’s open in the Big Easy, but Hornets GM Jeff Bower tells the New Orleans Times-Picayune that no such offer has been made . "The New Orleans Hornets have not made a formal offer to any candidates involved in the process to hire a head coach,” Bower said in a statement. "We have had discussions with many impressive candidates." One of those candidates that the team has supposedly soured on is New Orleans native and former Dallas Mavericks coach Avery Johnson, who seemed to be the frontrunner until he kept asking for more from the team (such as front-office responsibilities).

Nearly a decade ago, Bulls photographer Bill Smith and his wife, Lauren, discovered a new calling after touring the Cambodian garbage dumps of Phnom Penh. As a result, A New Day Cambodia was born.

Hawks taking time on coaching decision

Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Dwane Casey is  getting a second interview for the head-coaching opening with the Atlanta Hawks , but nobody should think he’s any kind of frontrunner, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The paper reports that the team is in absolutely no hurry to name a new coach, and general manager Rick Sund plans on being extremely deliberate in his search.

Phil Jackson likely not returning to Bulls

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson is a free agent once this season ends and there is a rumor circulating that the Chicago Bulls are trying to find a way to bring him back to the City of Big Shoulders, according to the Chicago Tribune. After all, Jackson won six championships there. The rumor has it that there hasn’t been any kind of direct contact between the team and Jackson but that the Zen coach was felt out through some back channel and it was determined that he could be up for a triumphant return to Chicago, according to the Trib
